Principal Trainer

  •  Owner and manager of the BIG4 North Star Holiday Resort since 1981
  • Founder of the Australian Caravan Park Training School in 1993

Qualifications include:

  • Diploma of Caravan Park Management
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessing in the Workplace
  • Chair of BIG4 Holiday Parks 1996 to 2001
  • Registered Training Organisation (RTO) National Provide #5303
  • Member of the National Caravan Industry Steering Committee (CRVA) since 1997 charged with the responsibility of firstly introducing and then reviewing every 5 years the Caravan Industry Traineeships
  • Awarded the Centenary Medal by Federal Goverment in 2003 for "Service as a leader in award winning budget tourist accommodation"

IAN GIDLOW

Work Place Health and Safety

Ian qualified as a lawyer in 1970 and practiced for 8 years before acting as a Legal Liability Consultant to the Queensland Goverment through the Workers Compensation Board, for in excess of 10 years, investigating the circumstances of industrial and commercial accidents after they occured. It was in this capacity that Ian realised the value and rewards of preventative law, and formed Worklaw Heatth and Safety in 1989, a Risk Management Consultancy.

He has practiced as a professional Risk Management Consultant since this time with permanent Consultancy appointments to some 45 Event Organisers Nationally, the Amusements Industry Nationally, Mining Products and the Meat Industry to name just a few, on Workplace Heatlh and Safety , Legal Liability and Legislative matters. Worklaw also provides tailored auditing, training, safety documentation and CRVA National Accreditation services to the Caravan Trades and Industry Association and Caravan Parks, Tourism and Accommodation Industry.

DAVID IRWIN

Strategic Planning & Marketing

David has had 30 years experience in the transport industry with Brambles, TNT and Queensland Rail, where he held senior accounting, administration and line management roles to the General Manager Level.

He has been teaching accounting and business subjects at the Kingscliff TAFE since 2002 and at the Australian Caravan Park Training School since 2005.

David holds an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
